Paul Reeve comments on alternatives to onsite diesel

ECA Director of CSR Paul Reeve spoke to Construction Management magazine about Government and industry's plans to eliminate 78% of diesel machinery from UK construction sites by 2035.

ECA, one of the leading organisations involved in the drafting of a route map to achieve this goal, said the health and safety implications of implementing diesel alternatives on sites should always be considered.

“When we are looking at alternatives to using diesel on site, they all have safety implications of their own,” Paul told Construction Management. “It’s very important that before people look at these alternatives, they understand what they have to do to control the safety impact of the alternative technologies and fuels.”
