Green light for Domestic Electrician Apprenticeship

The domestic electrical market in England now has a formal, funded training structure following the approval of the new Domestic Electrician Level 3 apprenticeship standard.

Commenting on the development, Andrew Eldred, ECA Director of Workforce and Public Affairs, added,

“The electrotechnical sector is rightly proud of its strong apprenticeship tradition. ECA welcomes the intention of this group of employers to reinforce and extend that tradition within a domestic context.

“As demand for electrotechnical skills continues to grow, it is imperative that employers in all markets – commercial and industrial, as well as domestic – recruit, train and retain enough competent qualified electricians to install both new and established technologies efficiently and safely.”
