NHS launches £500m framework

The NHS has launched a £500m transport infrastructure framework to improve transport links to hospitals and healthcare facilities across the country.

Projects under the framework will include the development of cycle and pedestrian infrastructure, the installation of electric vehicle charging points, and the construction of new bus and train stations.

The framework is part of the NHS's wider commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and promoting sustainable development. In addition to improving transport infrastructure, the NHS has also pledged to reduce its carbon emissions to net-zero by 2040, and to invest in renewable energy and energy efficiency measures.

The framework is being organised by NHS Shared Business Services and procurement documents are available here.

Potential bidders must express their interest by April 3.
