Contractors wanted for Midland Mainline electrification

Network Rail has begun issuing briefings ahead of the start of tendering for the next £1bn electrification phase of the Midland Mainline.

The works programme will cover almost 140km of rail lines from South Wigston to Sheffield and is a continuation of the completed line between London and Corby.

The programme will involve delivering overhead line equipment, route clearance to accommodate OLE extensions, and increased power supply to support electric passenger services to Sheffield and Nottingham.

Network Rail will be holding a Midland Main Line electrification market engagement briefing event at Pride Park Stadium, Derby and online as an MS Teams live event on 15th June 2022 at 10:00 and 13:00.

Firms can register their interest via this link by 10 June, 5pm.
