Six reasons to hire apprentices
ECAtoday
The electrotechnical and wider engineering services industry is facing a skills shortage. Over time, shortages are likely to become even more acute as we contemplate a growing number of infrastructure, housing, low-carbon and digital projects.
Now, more than ever, therefore, our industry needs a new talent pipeline of electrotechnical and engineering services apprentices.
Watch the video below for six key facts about apprentices that every business should consider…
Visit www.eca.co.uk/business recovery for more information about keeping apprentices in employment, alternatives to furlough and redundancy, and guidance on various measures included in the Chancellor’s announcement on 8th July 2020 – including enhanced incentive payments for hiring a new apprentice, and extra funding for full-time courses and work experience placements.
ECA also runs an Apprenticeship Temporary Secondment scheme. Employers interested in exploring the option of apprentice temporary secondment, whether as a potential lender or borrower, should contact their local ECA regional manager. Click here for contact details.
