ECA asks Europe to focus on Green Deal

ECA has signed an open letter to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in support of industry body EuropeOn's key Skills4Climate asks.

ECA and 17 other electrotechnical trade bodies form across Europe have called on the  EU Commission President to urgently address the lack of skilled professionals in the sector as a top priority for the energy transition.

The open letter asks, "Who will make the green & digital transitions an everyday reality?"

The lack of skills, worker shortages and low uptake of technical careers must be addressed as a priority at national and EU levels.

The letter includes a series of suggested actions that the Commission could take in order to support Europe in prioritising these issues.

The full letter can be read here.
