The Sonel PVM-1020 Solar PV Installation Kit is suitable for MCS installers and electrical contractors looking to test and inspect solar PV installations as described in Section 712 of the wiring regulations and for category 1 measurements according to BS:EN62446-1.

The solar installation meter is capable of testing systems up to 100kW measuring up to 400A with an external current clamp and AC voltage up to 600V.

Open circuit voltage and insulation testing of a PV panel or chain of panels can be made up to 1000V DC with short circuit current of a PV panel or chain of panels up to 20A DC.

Simultaneous measurement of RISO+/- can be made along with the resistance of protective conductors and equipotential bonding with a 200mA test current.

A long distance radio interface allows the Sonel PVM-1020 and IRM-1 solar irradiance and temperature meters to communicate and to automatically work together to make measurements and convert them to the standard test conditions (STC) according to BS:EN60891 to verify the performance of the photovoltaic installation.

The meters have IP65 protection against the ingress of dust and water allowing them to be used in most weather conditions when making measurements on outdoor photovoltaic installations.
