HSE testing dust and COVID compliance
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is carrying out unannounced inspections of construction sites throughout the month of October, to check construction firms’ health and safety standards as well as their compliance with COVID-19 rules.
HSE head of construction division operations for Wales, South and South West Michael Thomas said to Construction News, “We will lead with COVID on every inspection; that’s to make sure of the safety of our own staff and safety for employees on the construction site. There are the Construction Leadership Council guidelines and public health guidelines and we’ll be checking construction companies are upholding those.”
The latest CLC Site Operating Procedures (SOP version 6) have been published and are available to view on the ECA business recovery webpage.
