ECHO appoints general manager
Electronic Call Handling Operations (ECHO) has appointed Mark Taylor as the new general manager.
He is expected to steer ECHO as it readies itself for the start of a national roll out of the platform, now expected in early 2021.
Dave Wilkinson, director of technical services at the BSIA (a partner in ECHO), said, “the ECHO journey from drawing board of NPCC requirements to full service delivery is soon to be realised, and Mark’s business management expertise will be a key catalyst for this leg of the journey and onwards.”
The aim of ECHO is to deliver a centralised, fully automated electronic call handling service to reduce the pressure on the emergency services and Alarm Receiving Centres (ARCs) by reducing their call handling times and errors that can occur from manual response call handling.
The Fire & Security Association (FSA) is also a partner in ECHO. More information about ECHO can be found at www.echo.uk.net
