CBI calls for clarity on net zero

The Confederation of British Industry (CBI) has called for more clarity from the Government regarding its National Infrastructure Strategy.

A new report from CBI makes several recommendations, including giving more responsibility to regulatory bodies for ensuring the delivery of infrastructure, and stimulating private sector investment in a sweeping infrastructure programme that would drive a recovery from the coronavirus crisis and put the UK on track to meet its climate targets.

The report, titled Investing in Infrastructure, says, “The delivery of new infrastructure will also play a key role in supporting a green recovery, and progressing towards meeting the UK's target of net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, as modern networks and new methods of construction help cut emissions.”
