Robotic suits to help on site
Tool manufacturer Hilti is developing a robotic exoskeleton suit to help site workers lift more safely.
The suits aid with weight transfer via forearm and hip supports, reducing load on the body and the potential for injury. The devices will reduce peak load on the shoulders by up to 47% providing help for work above shoulder level and overhead.
Johannes Wilfried Huber, Head of Hilti’s Diamond Systems Business Unit said: “Exoskeletons are an important trend having great relevance for us. They provide relief for physically demanding tasks, such as those performed on construction sites every day.”
