CLC Brexit letter to Government

Construction Leadership Council co-chair Andy Mitchell has written to Business Secretary Alok Sharma MP, regarding preparations for a possible no deal with the European Union.

The letter states: “We recognise that there will be new-found opportunities in divergence from the EU and the entering into of new agreements with new trading partners, but we also have three overarching areas of concern for any future relationship with the EU which, with a very clear approach from Government, our businesses can prepare for.”

The letter, on behalf of the sector, focuses on three main areas: standards and regulations; materials and products; and the workforce.

The UK is due to leave the transition period with the EU on 31 December 2020.
