FSA comments on building safety bill
Earlier this week the Government published their draft building safety bill.
Commenting on the bill, Fire & Security Association (FSA) chair Tom Brookes said:
"FSA welcomes the publication of the draft building safety bill. FSA supports the broad principles of the legislation, which aims to increase accountability, public safety and building quality.
"We are closely reviewing the draft bill and will be engaging with stakeholders to ensure it delivers its objectives and can be implemented effectively by industry. FSA will be feeding in our specific views to the Government in due course.
"Residents and those in higher risk buildings have the right and expectation to be protected from the risk of fires, and this remains the guiding principle to our approach to these matters.”
