Government plans for construction
This week, Government will introduce plans to boost building and return to work safely in an effort to stimulate recovery from the coronavirus crisis.
New measures will be introduced, such as extended planning permission deadlines, faster planning appeals and more flexible working hours for site operatives to support social distancing.
The Government estimates that by the end of this month alone, more than 400 residential permissions providing more than 24,000 new homes would have expired. The new measures will help these developments and more resume as the economy recovers.
