UK’s biggest solar farm to begin development
The UK’s largest solar farm, to be developed in Kent, is set to gain ministerial approval this week.
Cleve Hill Solar Park will be made up of 880,000 solar panels and is expected to reach a capacity of 350MW, enough to power 91,000 homes. The project should start producing energy by 2023.
The Guardian reports that the developers expect to receive a development consent order for the £450m project from business secretary Alok Sharma this week, almost three years after talks began with local stakeholders over plans for the park.
