Tesla to add power to UK network
US technology company Tesla has applied to generate and supply electricity in the UK.
The application, submitted to the Gas and Electricity Markets Authority, would grant Tesla a license to supply power to “any premises” in the UK.
The company, run by Elon Musk, is well known for producing electric cars and renewable storage batteries for domestic and industrial use.
Tesla has also developed a software called Autobidder, which automatically sells surplus energy back to the grid.
