New online portal for coronavirus testing

New online portal for coronavirus testing

The government’s newly-updated website that coronavirus testing is now freely available via a new online system to:

  • essential workers with symptoms; and
  • people who live with essential workers and have symptoms.

The definitive list of essential workers for the purpose of testing is here

Those using the new online portal can apply for an appointment at one of over 30 drive-through testing sites across the country (results within 48 hours) or receive a home testing kit (results within 72 hours after test collection).   The government adds that “new test allocations are being made daily”.

There are two routes to arranging a test: employer and self-referral.

Employer referral allows employers to refer their essential workers for a test, with a login obtained by emailing with their organisation name, nature of their business, region, and names and email addresses for two users.
