Further delays anticipated for Crossrail
Crossrail chief executive Mark Wild has said there is “no denying covid-19 will impact” work on the scheme, although he added that it is “too early” to determine what the full effects will be. Crossrail sites are currently closed due to the coronavirus lockdown.
The central section of the £18bn railway is due to open in summer 2021, having originally been scheduled to be completed at the end of 2018.
These remarks were made in a letter to London Assembly transport committee chair Navin Shah.
