Government issues new guidance on furlough

The Government has published additional guidance on the new Job Retention Scheme (JRS).

The guidance now says it will cover the employer national insurance and minimum auto-enrolment pension scheme contributions made by employers in addition to wages paid to furloughed staff – on top of the wages covered under the government scheme. This, it says, may allow businesses to save an extra £300 a month for each employee, under the JRS.

ECA has issued detailed updated and consolidated guidance on the key question of furlough. Read more at www.eca.co.uk/coronavirus.
