Coronavirus halts Grenfell inquiry
New coronavirus developments have led to the Grenfell Tower inquiry being suspended for the foreseeable future, according to Building.
One of the specialist panel members - Thouria Istephan of Foster + Partners – apparently has coronavirus symptoms and is now self-isolating.
While the panel has also been impacted by new Government requirements on those aged over 70 to self-isolate. Inquiry chair Michael Moore-Bick and lawyer Michael Mansfield QC are now unable to leave their homes.
The June 2017 Grenfell Tower fire in London took the lives of 72 people, with more than 70 others injured during the tragedy.
