Coronavirus: Govt asked to ID essential work

The Government is set to be asked to ‘identify safety critical work on the infrastructure network that is essential and must be continued’ in the wake of coronavirus, according to a joint Build UK and CECA statement.

The joint statement also urges the Government to ensure ‘prompt payment’ for work and to ‘confirm support available to employers to retain essential skills’.

ECA is monitoring the commercial and employment situation closely, and has launched an industry-wide survey with BESA and SELECT, which can be completed here.

Employer advice can also be found at www.eca.co.uk/coronavirus
