Formula E race off due to coronavirus

The Formula E race in Jakarta, Indonesia on 6 June 2020 will no longer take place, due to concerns over coronavirus, the organisers have confirmed.

A statement from Formula E said the decision had been taken due to the outbreak of COVID-19 and the escalating number of cases in Indonesia and Jakarta.

“We are evaluating contingency plans to lessen the potential impact of coronavirus and maintain the highest possible number of races on the calendar for season six," commented Alberto Longo, co-founder of Formula E.

Portuguese driver Antonio Da Costa leads the electric car racing series after five rounds. The next race is currently scheduled for Paris, France on 18 April.
