Government launches onshore wind consultation
The Government has formally launched a consultation into the Contracts for Difference scheme, which could open the door to increased onshore wind energy production.
Earlier in the week, the Government confirmed its intention to reverse its moratorium on onshore wind energy, following sustained pressure from business and industry groups, including ECA.
The Government now intends to once again allow onshore wind and solar projects to be allowed to compete in the next round of Contracts for Difference, alongside other renewable energy technologies.
The consultation runs until 22 May 2020.
