Nuclear worker tests positive for coronavirus

A 35-year-old man who was working on Hinckley Point C in Somerset has reportedly tested positive for coronavirus, according to BristolLive.

The worker was diagnosed with the virus after arriving by boat in Shenzhen, China, following a flight from London to Hong Kong in late February.

Hinkley Point C is seeking to trace people who may have been in contact with the worker. A spokesperson for the project told Construction News: “Public Health England is working with us to understand how the individual could have become infected. To support this, [Hinkley Point C] is tracing people who may have been in contact with this individual between 15 and 27 February 2020.”

Hinkley Point C, which is being delivered by EDF and Chinese state firm CGN, is the largest construction site in the UK.
