Engineering Academy highlights LGBT History Month

To be truly successful, any industry must be inclusive, and understand the society that it serves. The Royal Academy of Engineering, working with InterEngineering (IE), the national network of LGBT engineers, is marking LGBT History Month during February through a social media campaign.

This is being shared on Twitter at @RAEngNews, using the hashtags #EngDiversity and #LGBTHM20.

Research released by IE suggests that LGB engineers are far less likely to feel they can be open about their sexual orientation -  55% of lesbian engineers, 48% of gay engineers and 53% of bisexual engineers, compared to 90% of heterosexual engineers.
