Government asked to improve building performance

A group of 11 industry bodies, including ECA, have signed a joint statement issued by the Building Performance Network.

The statement set out four requests to Government to help reduce the operational carbon emissions of buildings and help the UK reach its net zero emissions goal by 2050.

These include the implementation of new regulatory requirements for the operational performance of buildings, which would initially cover energy consumption and carbon emissions, but would then be expanded to cover other aspects, such as indoor air quality and thermal comfort.
