Report seeks more beautiful homes
A range of policies for making beautiful homes ‘the norm’ have been outlined within a report from the ‘Building Better, Building Beautiful’ Commission.
The report, entitled ‘Living with Beauty’, was commissioned by the Government. The proposals include reducing VAT on retrofit projects, reform of procurement processes, and fast-track planning approvals for certain developments.
Welcoming the report, Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick commented: “Beautiful, high-quality homes must become the norm, not the exception…I want to see zero-carbon homes being built as standard within 5 years as we learn again how our built and natural environments can work in harmony.”
