Job Retention Scheme tapers to 60% wage support

ECAtoday

Government support under the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS) tapered off from 1 August. ECA has published new guidance for Members, which outlines how the scheme is changing. It also covers ER issues when bringing employees back to work.
The Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme runs until 30 September 2021 but from 1 August 2021, the government will pay 60% of wages up to a maximum cap of £1,875 for the hours the employee is on furlough.
For claims from 1st July 2021, employers must already be topping up employees’ wages to ensure they receive 80% of their wages (up to £2,500) for the hours they are on furlough.
Find out more about how the scheme is changing.
Claims for furlough days in July 2021 must be made by 16 August 2021.
