New ultra-fast EV chargers added to network
Clean energy company Ecotricity has installed 12 new ultra-fast EV chargers at Rugby services on the M6.
The installation brings the number of high-speed charging stations in the UK – known as the Electric Highway – to 15. The chargers boast 350 kW charging speeds and could be upgraded to 475 kW in future.
EVs with suitable battery technology could receive an 80 per cent charge in just a few minutes.
Ecotricity says that drivers can benefit from the new chargers starting from May 1, 2021.
