Mace switches to hydrogen power

Construction giant Mace is switching from diesel to hydrogen power generators on site.

Generators manufactured by AFC Energy H-Power hydrogen systems will be used on Mace sites starting from early 2022.

Mace says it is committed to reduce its operational carbon emissions by 10 per cent every year and stop using diesel generators entirely by 2026.

Adam Bond, Chief Executive Officer at AFC Energy, said to Construction Enquirer: “A sustainable construction industry and the need for improved urban air quality is driving growing contractor interest in transitioning away from diesel generators in meeting today’s temporary power needs.

“AFC Energy’s zero emission, hydrogen fuelled power generator addresses this growing demand for cleaner power.”
