Construction boom slows
The rapid rise in construction output which began in the summer of 2020 has shown signs of slowing.
New Government figures show total construction output grew by just 1 per cent in November 2020 with new work rising by only 0.3 per cent.
Decreases in private housing and office work of 1.9 per cent and 1.5 per cent respectively slowed overall growth following recovery in the summer months.
Across all sectors, new work activity is reported as 6.4 per cent below the February pre-lockdown mark.
