Report calls for action on WEEE
The Environmental Audit Committee has issued a new report on electronics, e-waste and the circular economy, which calls for government action to prevent the harmful waste and disposal of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE).
Key findings from the report are summarised in the infographic below:
The report asks government to “set ambitious long-term targets including for the collection, re-use and recycling of E-waste to be undertaken to a very high standard,” and that these targets should “focus on reducing resource consumption; the environmental impact of the industry and on capturing and retaining value including critical raw materials.”
