Green Homes Grant extended by a year
The government has extended the Green Homes Grant by one year, following the announcement this week of a 10-point plan to tackle climate change and reach net zero by 2050.
The extension includes a pledge of £1 billion for making new and existing homes and public buildings more energy-efficient. Bills will also be reduced for hospitals and schools as part of the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme.
A spokesperson for the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) said to Construction Manager: “The CIOB welcomes the extension of the Green Homes Grant by a further year as it will give industry and consumers further time to make use of the scheme and ensure that all work is carried out to the highest standards.”
